A passenger was arrested by the police at the Mumbai airport for creating a mid-air ruckus. The man was on an Air India Express flight from Kozhikode to Bahrain and was charged for assaulting the crew and trying to open the door of the aeroplane mid-air. Seeing the commotion, the pilot made an emergency landing at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and alerted the security officials there.
Man Creates Ruckus Mid-Air; Pilot Makes Emergency Landing In Mumbai
Abdul Musavir Nadukandee, a 25-year-old man from Kerala, caused an Air India Express flight from Kozhikode to Bahrain to make an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport. He was arrested there by the Mumbai Police for allegedly assaulting the flight crew and attempting to open the door of the flight mid-air.
The incident took place on June 1. According to the Mumbai Police, the passenger woke up after the Air India Express flight took off and made his way to the back of the plane. He then went on to assault the cabin crew there and even tried to open the aircraft’s door. The crew members tried to subdue Abdul. However, he went on to abuse and threaten the crew and other passengers. He even threatened to open the emergency door while the crew tried to calm him down.
Sensing this as a security threat, the pilot made an emergency landing at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. He called in the security officials there to handle the situation.

Passenger Arrested For Assaulting Air India Express Crew
Upon the Air India Express flight’s landing in Mumbai, Abdul Musavir Nadukandee was arrested by the police. He has been charged under all the relevant provisions of the Aircraft Act. These include section 336 (act endangering life), section 504 (provocation to breach of the peace), section 506 (criminal intimidation), and section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
