Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir is set to open its doors very soon. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit this spiritual hamlet following its launch. To make travel more convenient for both tourists and devotees, the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya Dham has multiple airlines connected from all the major cities. Now, Air India Express operates its first nonstop route to Ayodhya from Bengaluru and Kolkata.

Air India Express Introduces Direct Route To Ayodhya Connecting Kolkata & Bengaluru

Air India Express has started its first nonstop route from Ayodhya to Kolkata and Bengaluru, with operations beginning today. The airline will connect Ayodhya to three cities: Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Delhi. The establishment of Ayodhya Airport in recent weeks has increased connectivity with other cities. This strategic extension offers pilgrims convenient one-stop itineraries to Ayodhya and improves connectivity.

The flights from Kolkata and Bengaluru will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Here are the flight timings and routes:

  • Ayodhya-Kolkata: 11:05 (Departure); 12:50 (Arrival)
  • Kolkata-Ayodhya: 13:25 (Departure); 15:10 (Arrival)
  • Bengaluru-Ayodhya: 7:30 (Departure); 10:00 (Arrival)
  • Ayodhya-Bengaluru: 15:00 (Departure); 17:30 (Arrival)

Ayodhya Turns Into A Busy City


The Air India Express Ayodhya-Kolkata flight was flagged off in the virtual presence of renowned dignitaries such as Shri. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation, and Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. In addition to Ayodhya, Gwalior is now another destination on Air India Express’s rapidly expanding network.

On December 30, Air India Express also launched its first flights from Ayodhya to Delhi in conjunction with the opening of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham.

While Ayodhya prepares for the major Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha celebration on January 22, there is a startling surge in Ayodhya flight reservations. Furthermore, since January 1st, there has been a surge in flight searches to Ayodhya. The Ram Temple is planned to open on January 22, and pilgrims from all around the country are expected to visit the city. Currently, only two airlines; IndiGo and Air India Express operate to Ayodhya.

According to industry analysts, spiritual tourism in the country has expanded manifold in just over a year, with spiritual centres such as Varanasi, Amritsar, Katra, Puri, Shirdi, Haridwar, and Tirupati driving the majority of this growth
