A terrifying incident happened on an Air India Express Delhi-Srinagar flight on Wednesday. The flight made two terrifying failed landing attempts when landing at Srinagar Airport, traumatising its passengers. Read on to know more about this concerning incident.
Air India Express Delhi-Srinagar Flight Makes 2 Failed Landing Attempts
According to a report by The Kashmir Pulse, the Air India Express flight (15741) departed from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 2:50 pm on March 13. During its landing at Srinagar Airport, the pilot made two failed attempts to land. This is after making several rounds in the air. A passenger revealed to Kashmir News Trust that there were chaotic scenes in the plane. The passenger further stated that the atmosphere was scary and some passengers started weeping.
While the passenger isn’t aware of the reason for the two failed landing attempts, he speculates that it could be due to bad weather or a technical snag. Furthermore, he stated that he can’t express the panicking moments in words that happened inside the flight when it failed to and on the runway twice. Passengers were very anxious and started crying after the flight failed many landing attempts. Another passenger in an interview with Kashmir News Trust accused Air India Express of playing with the lives of people.
In 2022, 16 Failed Landings Happened at Kolkata Airport Due To Bad Weather
On August 19, 2022, severe crosswinds created havoc for pilots landing at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport. From 5 pm to 6:30 pm, 11 pilots were unable to land the flight on the first attempt. They had to go for another attempt A report by Simple Flying states that a total of 16 landings were aborted with 9 aircraft diverted to other airports. Many others kept circling the airport attempting to land. However, pilots weren’t prepared for the intensity of the crosswinds. Incoming flights were alerted to avoid landing at the airport.
