On the occasion of Mahashivratri, Akasa Air launched a new route from Bengaluru to Varanasi and Goa. The first flight departed at 12:30 hrs from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and reached Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (VNS) at 15:00 hrs on the 18th of Feb, 2023. As for the returning flight, it will depart from Varanasi at 15:00 hrs and reach Bengaluru at 18:05 hrs. However, from 1st March, the airline will increase flight frequency and operate daily from Varanasi to Bengaluru to Goa’s Manohar International Airport (GOX) in Mopa.
Varanasi To Get Tourism Boost
At the destination launch, the Chief Commercial Officer and Co-Founder of Akasa Air, Praveen Iyer, said that the launch of daily flights to Varanasi will add to the increasing tourist count. Moreover, it will ease connectivity from metro cities. Varanasi is a prime tourist destination, and with affordable flight fares, they aim to provide efficient service. They plan to get the city ready for future developments.
