With the aim of safeguarding the nation’s cultural legacy, recently Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai checked the progress of the Al Fahidi Fort Rehabilitation Project. He also finalised the design of the project in the meeting, which was also attended by Sheikha Latifa bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Member of Dubai Council. Sheikh Hamdan Approves Designs For Al Fahidi Fort Rehabilitation Project

In a recent meeting, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the final design for the Al Fahidi Fort Rehabilitation Project. This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Ruler of Dubai and the Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE, for safeguarding the cultural legacy of the nation. The details about the project and the meeting were revealed by the Crown Prince on his official account on X through a series of posts.

The Meeting Was Also Attended By Sheikha Latifa

According to the information revealed, this update focused on the Dubai Culture’s initiative for developing the architecture, exhibition, design, content, and branding of the project. For those who aren’t aware, it was initiated by Sheikh Hamdan back in the year 2021! Moreover, other updates on the project also included improvements to accessibility and traffic management around the area. Many infrastructural upgrades to respect the area’s historical significance were also revealed.

What Does The Makeover Plans Include?

There are also plans to enhance the public space near the fort and all the amenities that these places would offer. As a result, this will improve the visitor experience in the area, which is an integral part of the cultural heritage of Dubai. For those who aren’t aware, the Al Fahidi Fort connects visitors to Dubai’s past, as it dates back to the late 1700s. Once a defensive structure and guardian of old Dubai, this relic offers insight into the fascinating history of the emirates. Additionally, once it is completed, a new museum will also open its doors to the public.

It will offer a journey through the architectural vision, cultural narrative, and historical significance of the area.
