History was never kind to women. Thanks to the courage of many brave heroines of the past and the present, women’s rights have come a long way from innumerable suffering. This International Women Day celebrated on March 8, witnessed a new landmark in the aviation industry. Air India’s subsidiary Alliance Air took off on its first flight from Delhi to Bareilly in an all-women crew on International Women’s Day.
A Milestone For Women & Alliance Air
Alliance Air inaugurated their Delhi-Bareilly flight with an all-women crew. This flight landed at the recently constructed Bareilly Airport, Uttar Pradesh, and was given a water-cannon salute. The Trishul Military Airbase in Bareilly, which initially belonged to the Indian Air Force, has been opened for commercial flights under the RCS-UDAN scheme. It is noteworthy that Alliance Air was also awarded the Delhi-Bareilly route under the UDAN-4 bidding process.

Travel From Delhi To Bareilly In A Smooth Manner
Alliance Air is flying their ATR 72 600 aircraft, with a seating capacity of 70, on this route. This momentous flight was flagged off by Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in the presence of Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar and Civil Aviation Joint Secretary Usha Padhee. Other important dignitaries like the Civil Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola, Air India CMD Rajiv Bansal, and other aviation Ministry and AAI personnel joined the event virtually. A government release stated that people can now fly with ease travel from Delhi to Bareilly in one hour. Previously this journey would have taken more than six hours by road and more than four hours by train.

Let us also inform you that the Government of India sanctioned ₹88 crores under the UDAN scheme for the development of the interim civil aviation operations.
