Shashi Tharoor Praises Forest Officer For Rescuing King Cobra
It’s not every day that you see someone bravely rescuing a king cobra, one of the world’s longest and most venomous snakes. But that’s exactly what happened when forest beat officer G.S. Roshni of Paruthipalli range in Kerala rescued the large snake with a stick and safely put it in a sack. The moment shared online got attention from none other than Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who praised her efforts and commended her courage on Tuesday.
He reposted the video originally shared by X user @Rajan_Medhekar with the caption, “Amazing courage and competence on display by Forest Officer Roshni! Calling on the Kerala Government to recognise her exemplary service appropriately. Thanks for pointing this out @Rajan_Medhekar! Such bravery in the line of duty too often is taken for granted and remains unappreciated.” Not only did he thank the poster for sharing the officer’s bravery with the world, but he also urged the Kerala government to recognise her fearless act.

It Was An 18-Foot Venomous Snake
Apart from being extremely venomous, this king cobra was reportedly 18 feet long when caught by Officer Roshni of the Paruthipalli range. As per the post, a few locals had spotted the snake while bathing in a stream in the Peppara area of Thiruvananthapuram.
Roshni did not even flinch while rescuing it. Her action not only ensured the safety of the locals but also made sure no harm came to the snake. She gently lifted it with a stick and placed it in a sack. Several users praised her bravery in the comments. One wrote, “True power of Indian women,” while another added, “Huge respect to Forest Beat Officer Roshni! ”
