The competition in the quick commerce world in India just got a new player. With more and more people looking to ditch the waiting time and get access to groceries and daily essentials instantly, Amazon has finally stepped into the arena. In a major move, Amazon has officially launched its quick commerce service, called ‘Amazon Now’, in Bengaluru. This marks the global e-commerce giant’s entry into the growing 10-minute delivery race.

Amazon Now has quietly gone live in three select pin codes in Bengaluru, a city that often serves as the testing ground for new tech and delivery services in India. This launch follows a pilot program that began back in December 2024, and now, Amazon is ready to scale it up.

According to the Money Control reports, Amazon plans to expand this ultra-fast delivery service to more parts of Bengaluru in the coming weeks. And if things go well, it won’t be long before we see it in other major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, or Hyderabad. If you run out of something mid-recipe or need detergent urgently, Amazon Now promises to get it to you almost instantly. The service is currently available only in a few areas, but it’s already receiving great feedback, especially from Prime members.

Quick Commerce Gets A New Player

Quick commerce is the fastest-growing segment in the Indian online shopping space. Companies like Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart have already built strong customer bases by delivering groceries and daily-use items in 10 to 30 minutes. Many people now prefer these platforms for their everyday needs, moving away from traditional online shopping that took one or two days.

While Amazon remains a leader in long-format online shopping, the company has clearly seen the rising popularity of ultra-fast delivery. Amazon Now is their answer to this trend. The Bengaluru launch is just the beginning. Amazon is expected to rapidly scale up ‘Now’ to cover more areas in the city before bringing it to other parts of India.

If all goes according to plan, Amazon Now could become a go-to app for millions of Indian households who want their groceries and essentials delivered faster than ever.
