An Eco-Friendly Food Festival Is Now Happening At Dubai’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah

With summer weather rolling in a little too soon, the outdoors need to be enjoyed as much as possible. What better way to take advantage of the warm yet pleasant weather than heading to souk Madinat Jumeirah, and checking out a unique eco friendly food fest. The Dubai Food Fest 2020 is already here and in addition, Madinat Jumeirah is hosting the first ever eco friendly food festival in the region.

What’s It?

With expo 2020 coming up, and the theme of sustainability spreading far and wide, an eco friendly food festival fits in perfectly. The ‘Homegrown souk’ will be showcasing a number of different foods in the most eco friendly way. The market will involve fresh produce sold without the use of any plastic. When you arrive at the fest, a complimentary tote bag will be given, to eliminate the use of any plastic bags. There will also be classes and workshops on plant based packaging techniques.

The festival kicked off on the 28 February and will be on up until the 6 march. With lots of tasty treats available for you and your family, you can enjoy yourself and have a great time, all while moving one step closer to a better planet.

What Else?

A myriad of fun food activities and workshops are taking place at some of the top restaurants in Madinat Jumeirah. Check out a ‘grow well’ class at the Trattoria Toscana, or join a family masterclass for guacamole at Maria Bonita. Food tasting classes and special deals will also be offered during the food fest week.

You can check out some great food tours hosted by different restaurants, and enjoy live music at many restaurants in the area. Madinat Jumeirah is perfect at night, and has amazing lights surrounding the eateries. So if you’re headed for a nice dinner out, make sure to grab a seat outside!
