Anand Mahindra Agrees To Tweet That Calls 10-Minute Grocery Delivery Inhuman

A few days back, the announcement of the 10-minute delivery service by Zomato had received a lot of flak on social media. Netizens had expressed their concerns that the initiative might put immense pressure on delivery agents and also lead to road accidents. Zomato had thought of the fast delivery model following the footsteps of instant grocery delivery platforms like Blinkit and Zepto. Recently, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital Pramesh CS took to Twitter and denounced the 10-minute grocery delivery services calling them ‘inhuman’. Sharing the post, business tycoon Anand Mahindra wrote, “I agree.”

Swiggy, Uber Eats Tagged In The Post

Taking to Twitter, Pramesh CS wrote that buyers can live with two hours and even six hours of delivery time. He also tagged the Twitter handles of Swiggy and Uber Eats. His post received huge support from the internet. One user wrote, “Totally with you. Anyone who can’t plan their food at least 30 min in advance can’t be a success in their profession.” Another stated, “Why would you get trolled!? Anyone with common sense and humanity will support this.” Another wrote, “I usually call the delivery guy and tell them myself to take their time and come. Not sure if they are fined for coming late.”

Companies Are Mulling Over Replacing Delivery Services By Humans With Drones

Companies like Zomato, Swiggy, Dunzo, Asteria Aerospace and SpiceJet had got permits for drone testing to deliver food, grocery and more in a contactless way. Zomato had also carried out a test delivery in India with drones in 2019. Thus, drones for delivery might soon become a reality in India.
