The two-day theatre festival in Andaman is all set to start from September 25. At this festival, many theatre groups and cultural associations from across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will be seen setting the stage on fire. They will be performing plays that are adaptations of famous Indian books or stories. It is compulsory for participants to perform in Hindi at this event so that people from all walks of life can understand and enjoy it, reported The Wave Andaman.

Along with the adaptation, the groups can also perform new, original plays. These plays should focus on important social issues like education, gender equality, mental health, and protecting the environment. For local residents, authorities are expecting this festival to be both entertaining and thought-provoking.

How To Take Part In This Festival?

The theatre group that wants to participate in this festival must send their full script or screenplay to the Department of Art & Culture for review and approval. According to The Wave Andaman, before the play, each story will be checked to know if it’s good and relevant. Each play should last between 40 and 60 minutes to give the audience an engaging theatre experience. The last day for the submission was September 19. For any queries, they can contact the department or the assigned Artist liaison officer.

The selected plays will get the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of the public. Also, the artists can engage the audience with their talent and meaningful stories. To ensure everything runs smoothly, the department will provide support for venues, basic stage setups, and promotions, ensuring the event attracts wide public attention.
