Are you someone who has plans to fly to India? Well, if your answer is ‘yes,’ then you will need to make sure that you follow this new step before you depart. Yes, it is mandatory now to fill out an online health declaration before international travellers board the flight. As a part of the pre-departure checklist, India has launched the Air Suvidha portal and here’s all you need to know if you’re travelling to the country.
International Travellers To Fill Mandatory Self-Health Declaration
If you are someone who is travelling to India, you will want to know that India has re-launched its Air Suvidha portal. This has been upgraded to version 2.0. Now, international passengers who are arriving in the country are required to submit a digital form before their flight. Yes, this move comes in response to the World Health Organisation declaration of Ebola/Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. This outbreak of disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda has truly become a point of global concern.
India Launches Air Suvidha Portal
Basically, this is a self-declaration form, which can be completed up to 24 hours before you arrive in India. Launched jointly by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Delhi International Airport Limited in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services, passengers are strongly advised to fill it out before boarding or during the web check-in. However, upon arrival, it is important to note that you only need to show the downloaded form at the international travel health desk or the immigration counter. There is no need for physical paperwork that needs to be filled out upon landing.
