Travelling from Punjab’s Ludhiana got easier and more convenient! After a long pause on flight operations for more than 2 years, the services made a comeback at the Sahnewal airport recently. Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, was present at Ludhiana’s domestic airport on 6 September 2023 to inaugurate flights from there. The resume of services comes with new offers as well.

Ludhiana’s Sahnewal Airport Makes A Comeback After A Long Hiatus Of Over 2 Years!

Here are glimpses and snippets from the launching of flights at the airport on Wednesday shared by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh launched the first flight after the reopening of the airport for operations. The first flight took off to Hindon in Ghaziabad, according to a report by the Free Press Journal. The journey between these two destinations takes just 90 minutes. With the inauguration, he also made the grand announcement of an exciting ticket fare from Sahnewal Airport to Delhi NCR. For the first 3 months, passengers can grab a ticket for this route at just ₹999. Flight tickets under ₹1000 are simply unbelievable and surely a great deal for flyers.

Big Charter Private Limited is operating a twin-otter aircraft of 19 seats to take passengers to their destination. As of now, the flights are providing services only 5 days a week. But this is going to change from the next month with flight services 7 days a week.

The minister emphasised how the flight operations from Ludhiana airport are going to be a great help for industrialists, businesspeople, and more. This is helping in convenient journeys of traders and entrepreneurs and also boost commerce and economic activity in Ludhiana, he further added.

More Plans Are On The Way!

The Chief Minister shared how there are plans for inaugurating and starting services in the international airport at Halwara soon, according to a report by Tribune. With this grand opening, a huge number of domestic and international flights can take off and land in Ludhiana.
