Asha Bhosle Prefers Performing On Stage Over Recording In A Studio; Here’s Why

Asha Bhosle, the 91-year-old legend still manages to hypnotise the audience with her melodious voice! Turns out, the singer adores performing live! Rather than recording music in the studio, she prefers to be on stage. She shared the reason behind this on one of our episodes of Sunday Brunch with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani. Scroll to learn about it.

This Is Why Asha Bhosle Likes Performing On The Stage

While relishing a delectable spread of desi food at Asha Bhosle’s well-known restaurant Asha’s in Dubai, we talked about Asha Ji’s legendary music career. Kamiya wanted to learn whether she appreciates singing to a live audience or recording songs in the studio. The singer replied, “Live mein bohot acha lagta hai. Stage par bohot acha lagta hai”

The reason behind this is the sheer joy she feels from the appreciation, love and respect she receives from her adoring fans. Asha Ji talked about how standing ovations, speaking to the crowd and bonding over good music makes her soul merry.

A singer experiences real and raw emotions on the stage. It entirely differs from what happens in a soundproof room when recording a song. It is nowhere near the epic experience of a live concert! Hence, Asha Ji will always choose live concerts over recording studios.

She comes from an era where paparazzi or the Internet weren’t a thing. However, she shared that artists shouldn’t lose their confidence and keep pursuing their dreams.

She told us that it is incredibly crucial to have faith in oneself and their work. The minute you lose self-confidence and ponder over the unpredictable future, you start to lose confidence. She goes by the mantra “It will be alright” and sums it up by saying, “Jab tak aadmi mein (self-confidence) hai, tab tak voh khada hai! Jis din voh bolega abhi kya hoga, khatam.”
