New Rules Announced For Tourists Visiting Kaziranga National Park
Renowned for being home to the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses, Kaziranga National Park is located in Assam, India. Every year, it attracts thousands of domestic and international tourists for jeep and elephant safaris. But the authorities have now decided to put some new rules in place for visitors, following directions issued by the Supreme Court of India and the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
According to The Sentinel, the new rules include prohibiting the use of mobile phones inside the national park to stop noise and disturbances to animals and introducing an online safari booking system. This proposed system aims to make bookings easier and more transparent for visitors while also increasing revenue collection.

Rules To Be Implemented From The Next Tourism Season
According to The Sentinel, the Kaziranga National Park authorities are also planning to implement measures to regulate the number of tourists inside the wildlife park. To keep the safaris orderly and reduce stress for animals, they have also decided to keep one forest range closed to tourists for one day every week. Furthermore, it will now be mandatory for every tourist vehicle to be accompanied by a Forest Department-approved and trained guide.
These new rules will be implemented from the next tourism season, which runs from November to April. During this time, the weather is cool and dry. It is perfect for safaris and spotting Indian one-horned rhinoceroses, Asian elephants, migratory birds, swamp deer and more.
