The world’s tallest statue dedicated to Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was inaugurated in Andhra Pradesh on Friday. Situated in Vijayawada, the statue was unveiled by Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on January 19. Standing at a height of 206 feet, it is called the Statue of Social Justice. Statue Of Social Justice – The Tallest Ambedkar Statue In The World

Dedicated to the architect of the Indian Constitution – Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the Statue of Social Justice was unveiled in Andhra Pradesh on Friday. Inaugurated by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, this statue is placed on an 81-foot-high pedestal inside the Ambedkar Smriti Vanam at Swaraj Maidan.

While addressing the crowd present at the inauguration, the CM said that the Statue of Social Justice will urge today’s generation to take inspiration “from Ambedkar’s revolutionary work and ideology.” He talked about the great leader’s tireless work against marginalised communities and women. He further mentioned that the statue symbolises human rights, women’s rights, and equality – everything that was Ambedkar’s vision.

Everything You Need To Know About This Statue

Standing 206 feet tall, the Statue Of Social Justice is the tallest Ambedkar statue in the world. Furthermore, it is the fourth tallest statue in India. The first one is the Statue of Unity, followed by the Statue of Belief and the Statue of Equality of Ramanuja.

The Statue of Social Justice was built at a cost of ₹404.35 crore and the overall arena of the statue is spread across 18 acres of land.

There are six water bodies in the forecourt of the statue. It features a musical water fountain in the centre and three peripheral water bodies for the pedestal building.

A 19-foot statue of Ambedkar was unveiled in Maryland, USA in October 2023. It was also called the ‘Statue of Equality’ and is the tallest statue of Ambedkar outside India. And now the tallest statue found home in India, is pretty awesome, right?
