In one of its latest announcements, SpiceJet revealed that it is temporarily shutting down operations on the Puducherry-Bengaluru-Hyderabad flight route. This embargo will be operational from the 20th of June to the 2nd of July.

This means that those who are flying to any of these three cities via SpiceJet between the dates specified above will no longer be able to do so. According to an article recently published by Times Now, the airline cited technical issues as the reason for this temporary suspension.

According to the statement made by the airline, people who have already made bookings on the route between the dates need not worry. These people will either be compensated with alternative flights to their destinations or will receive full refunds of their tickets.

Benefit To Other Airlines

This temporary halt may benefit other low-cost domestic flying airlines like GoFirst or AirAsia India since SpiceJet will not be flying on the route. Clearly, this move may have caused significant inconvenience to the people who had already purchased tickets and made plans to travel via the airline in question.

This isn’t the first time an airline has announced that they would be temporarily suspending flights. Recently, GoFirst made headlines when it temporarily ceased all flight operations as well as bookings on upcoming flights.

Since then, though, GoFirst has restarted its operations and is now regularly offering to and from multiple locations in India. It should be noted that SpiceJet will resume flights as per usual after 2nd July.
