Atul Kulkarni Has Never Faced Any Discrimination Because Of Nepotism In the Industry

Atul Kulkarni is an outsider in the film industry and with his incredible talent, he has made a name for himself, whether it is Marathi films or Hindi films. We talked about the sensitive topic of ‘Nepotism’ with Atul on this episode of Tere Gully Mein with our, anchor Arohi Thatte.

Atul Kulkarni Declared That He Never Faced Discrimination Due To Nepotism

This video was released in June last year when the topic of nepotism was hotly debated on the Internet. So it was only correct to ask him if he was treated differently in this industry. Arohi asked him, “Did you ever face anything which made you feel like an outsider in the industry?” He replied, “Personally, I have never faced that!”

Atul emphasised the fact that he did not receive any kind of distinct treatment or discrimination because his background was not in the film industry. He summed it up by saying, “Otherwise, I wouldn’t have survived in the industry for 25 years,” with a smile on his face. In fact, he told us that there is no debate about nepotism in the industry. He said that it was “a created thing”.

Atul talked about how some kids favour their parents’ profession. If they want to pursue it, then the parents would always help the kid step into their world. He specified that it could be in the field of architecture, medicine, law or even in the Army. But this isn’t viewed as nepotism but is rather appreciated.

On the other hand, the film industry is one of the most challenging industries to survive in, said the actor. He continued, “Our profession only needs one thing, acceptance of the audience.” In a sense, Atul believes that your hard work and talent speak volumes. There is no harm in getting a chance to entertain the masses even if it is deemed nepotist.
