A pall of grief hangs over the coastal town of Tathra, New South Wales, following the disappearance of Christine Armstrong, a regular 69-year-old participant in the local swimming community. The incident unfolded during a routine morning swim with friends, leaving a community stunned and Christine’s loved ones facing a devastating loss. According to reports, a 13-foot shark swallowed her whole.

The group embarked on their usual swim, the familiar rhythm of the waves lapping against their bodies providing a sense of comfort. Chaos erupted when they spotted an indicator of an unseen predator’s presence: a gathering of birds circling a specific area in the water.

Swimming to safety, their sense of normalcy abruptly shifted to chilling concern when they reached the shore to find Christine missing. Initial assumptions that she might have returned home ahead of them were quickly dispelled.

Authorities, piecing together the evidence – including the absence of Christine and the location of her belongings – concluded that she likely fell victim to a shark attack.
