Avoid These 5 Roads As Heavy Rains Batter Bengaluru

Bengaluru’s municipal infrastructure was exposed by the city’s torrential overnight rains, with the city’s major roads experiencing flood-like conditions on September 5. Inadequate infrastructure has caused flooding on the roads, traffic delays, and interruptions in Bangaloreans’ daily lives. There have been several videos and images going viral on the internet showing people stuck with their vehicles on the road. So if you are in Bengaluru make sure to avoid these roads for now.

1. Kalyan Nagar Bridge

The Banaswadi Traffic Police urged commuters to avoid Jayanthi Gram Circle due to reports of waterlogging in the region. On the same road, traffic is congested as workers make their way to Manyatha Tech Park. Banaswadi Police Traffic also tweeted about the same.

2. Eco World, Marathahalli

Due to overnight rain, the entire ORR is flooded, and traffic is predicted to be clogged until evening as vehicle flow has slowed down. Airport police advised commuters to avoid the route if at all possible because of the significant water logging nearby, which is causing them to redirect traffic from the echo world campus to the doddakannelli main road.

3. Outer Ring Road

Despite the city authorities undertaking repair work on storm water drains (SWD) near RMZ Ecospace in Bellandur, the Outer Ring Road in Bellandur was severely flooded once more when the Halanayakanahalli Lake overflowed following the heavy downpour.

On Monday, firefighters were spotted using lifeboats to evacuate residents from the layout.

5. Thanisandra Main Road

The government warned motorists that water logging near Elements Mall on Thanisandra Main Road near the Banasawadi Traffic Police Station border has caused traffic congestion. The traffic police informed the residents about the traffic on Twitter.
