After non-stop downpours in north Bengaluru on Monday, the Bengaluru Airport elevated corridor was temporarily flooded. The elevated expressway along Bellary Road experienced waterlogging. This led to motorists being stuck in traffic for long hours. The traffic police were on site and tried to ease the traffic flow.
From luxury cars and BMTC buses to autos, everyone was affected by this traffic congestion near the airport. Several vehicles, reportedly, broke down as well. MN Anucheth, Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic, Bengaluru, posted about this on X (formerly Twitter).
As per a Deccan Herald report, due to the incessant rain, many motorists were left stranded. Since the showers lasted a few hours, people were forced to seek shelter under metro stations, bus stands, and buildings.
Netizens React To Flooding On The Elevated Road
While rainfall and traffic congestion aren’t a new phenomenon, the fact that Bengaluru Airport’s elevated corridor was flooded has raised many questions. Many people on the Internet asked how an elevated road could be flooded while others raised questions about why one should pay toll tax for roads like this one. Here are some tweets you cannot miss out on.

Water logging is a serious issue, every year after raining, only people have to suffer & safe guard themselves. It is shame, we have to face this after paying road tax, toll fee.
