On September 26, the country’s Silicon Valley, came to a standstill as pro-Kannada groups and farmers called for a bandh from 6 am to 6 pm. The Bengaluru Bandh happened to demand the Karnataka government to stop the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. During this Bengaluru Bandh, protestors vandalised the popular eatery, Natraj Chole Bhature and two other hotels in Jayanagar 4th Block. Here’s what happened.
Three Restaurants In Jayanagar 4th Block Vandalised During Bengaluru Bandh
According to a report by The Hindu, three hotels in Jayanagar 4th Block were vandalised by miscreants during the Bengaluru Bandh. They barged into Natraj Chole Bhature, Udupi Hub and Annapoorna Hotel in the vicinity. A group of protestors flung chairs and smashed window panes, demanding the restaurants to shut shop. This happened on the morning of September 26.
Customers panicked and ran out of the eateries. As per The Hindu report, a woman faced minor injuries in the chaos due to the stone pelting. The miscreants destroyed furniture, and television sets and even spilled the food prepared for customers at the restaurants. The attacks were recorded by the CCTV cameras installed.
City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda revealed to The Hindu that barring one incident in Jayanagar, the rest of the protests in the city were peaceful. Meanwhile, senior police officials started an investigation to identify the group of protesters who vandalised the restaurants in Jayanagar 4th block. They assured the restaurateurs that strict action would be taken against the miscreants.

Karnataka Bandh To Happen On September 29
Post Bengaluru Bandh, on September 29, the state has declared Karnataka Bandh. The state will come to a halt where activists have called to block national highways and airports. Former MLA Vatal Nagaraj announced that there will be protests in front of the Raj Bhavan. Like the Bengaluru Bandh, schools and colleges will likely be closed during this state-wide bandh. Bengaluru University has even cancelled its convocation ceremonies.
