Not long ago, a pest control technician visited my home to get rid of a cockroach infestation. The exterminator educated me about creepy crawlies entering homes through boxes and packages, especially the ones ordered online. These boxes are kept in warehouses and often act as breeding grounds for insects and even reptiles. The viral video of a cobra slithering out of an Amazon box while shocking, isn’t entirely surprising for me.

Amazon Box Delivered To Bengaluru Couple Contained A Cobra

X user Aaraynsh shared a video originally posted by Tanvi. The X user stated that a family from Bengaluru ordered an Xbox controller on Amazon. And they ended up getting a live cobra with the package at their residence on Sarjapur Road. Fortunately, the snake was stuck to the black packaging tape. Aaraynsh ended his post by writing, “India is not for beginners”. In the viral video, a snake is seen slithering out of the Amazon package placed inside a red bucket. It was trying to crawl out.

According to India Today, the couple was handed the package by the delivery personnel. On discovering the cobra, the couple filmed the whole incident and also had eyewitnesses. While Amazon refunded the entire amount, the Bengaluru couple raised questions about the risk they had to undergo. This indeed raises questionsa about the company’s negligence and lack of supervision.

Netizens Fill Comments Section With Naagin Jokes

Meanwhile, it left Netizens in a shock and some were concerned about theri safety while ordering things online. Others had a field day making naagin and saap jokes. One X user asked, “Asli wale Amazon se mangawaya hai kya?” Another said, “Instead of Xbox, they got Ssssssss box.” A person said that Amazon gave the couple a free pet. “Xbox se ex nikal gayi,” jokes another.

@KumarNaray11331 wrote that this incident shows that it’s not just the customers but even the people working in the warehouse are at risk. Others put shocked emojis and showed how visibly taken aback they were.
