Good news, Bengaluru! After more than a four-month-long dry spell, the city is set to receive rain showers this evening and tomorrow. According to a forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several areas in Karnataka will receive rainfall between April 19 to 23. These rain showers will provide respite to the residents who have been facing scorching heat in Bengaluru with temperatures as high as 39°C.

After a 146-day-long dry spell, Bengaluru is set to receive rain showers today and tomorrow! The city woke up to cloudy skies and a forecast of light rain showers this evening and tomorrow in most parts. As per IMD’s forecast, Bengaluru will experience light rain or thundershowers towards evening or night in the next 48 hours. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to be around 37°C and the minimum to be about 23°C. This forecast is a relief for Bengaluru residents who have been turning to air conditioners and coolers for some relief from the heat.

IMD Predicts Rainfall In Karnataka Over Next Few Days

Not just Bengaluru, but more cities in Karnataka will see rainfall in the next few days. IMD has predicted rainfall from Friday to Tuesday, that is, April 19 to 23 in various parts of the state. Furthermore, the meteorological department has also predicted “thunderstorms along with lightning, accompanied by gusty winds” at isolated places over Karnataka till April 21.
These cities include Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Vijayanagara, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir and Ballari districts. There is also a warning of heavy rainfall over Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, and Shivamogga districts of South Interior Karnataka (SIK) for Friday.
