Bengaluru Woman Ordered 62 Biryanis For IND-PAK Match; Netizens Say It Was A Wasteful Watch Party

Cricket lovers in India and Pakistan waited with bated breath for the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup match on September 2. Hotels in Kandy, Sri Lanka were fully booked and cricket lovers bought costly tickets for the most-awaited match. A Bengaluru woman ordered 62 biryanis online on Saturday for the match. Unfortunately, rain played spoilsport after India scored 266 runs in 48.5 overs. Here’s what happened to the biryani story.

Woman In Bengaluru Orders 62 Biryanis For India vs Pakistan Match

Swiggy took to its X (formerly Twitter handle), @Swiggy to share food stats during the IND vs PAK match on Saturday, 2nd September. The food delivery app posted that someone from Bengaluru ordered 62 units of biryani from Bengaluru. Swiggy curiously asked who was this person, where were they and if they were hosting a match watch party.

Later, Swiggy stated to Moneycontrol that a woman from Bengaluru ordered 62 plates of biryani just for this match. In no time Netizens took to the comments section to share their opinions on the same. One person commented that if this was a watch party, then it was a wasteful one as rains played spoilsport and didn’t allow a single ball to be bowled after India scored 266.

Another X user wondered if the biryanis were ordered as part of donations. One confidently said the biryanis were ordered from Meghana’s in Bengaluru. An X user hoped it wasn’t vegetarian biryani.

Even the Gujarati favourite dish dhokla brought wide smiles to the faces of Netizens as 8147 units of dhoklas were ordered in just a day.
