Bengaluru is known for its cool and pleasant weather. But now, in February, the city is already feeling a lot of heat. The unexpected surge in temperature has made many residents uncomfortable. While the same can’t be said for Mumbai, as Mumbaikars are busy enjoying relatively pleasant weather these days. Here’s more on this.
How Is The Weather In Bengaluru?
Bengaluru is a city that is often known for its breezy climate and cool weather. But instead of pleasant days, Bengalureans are quite surprised by the unexpected surge in temperatures. Many of them are now turning on fans and air conditioners in February. According to The New Indian Express, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that just before the summer officially kicks in in March, the mercury suddenly shoots up in Bengaluru towards the end of February.
This change has been seen over the past two decades in the city. According to IMD, the cutting of trees and concretisation have impacted the city temperatures significantly. The maximum temperature is likely to reach about 32°C in March. This means that Bengaluru can see hotter days and warmer-than-usual nights. But yes, mornings might still seem a little pleasant.

Mumbai Continues To Enjoy Pleasant Mornings
According to a report by The Economic Times, temperatures are expected to rise steadily in April and May. Residents can expect more intense heat compared to previous years. We advise Bengalureans to keep a check on their hydration now! Eat a lot of fruits and maybe some ice cream once in a while to keep yourself cool.
Talking about Mumbai, IMD has predicted temperatures to hover between 20°C and 33°C. According to Mid-Day, Mumbaikars can expect cool morning hours but warm yet manageable daytime conditions. The weather is favourable, yes, but a layer of smog was recently observed in Mumbai, leading to low visibility. It has once again raised concerns about air pollution in the city.
