If you travel on Bengaluru Metro’s Yellow Line, then we have some really good news for you all! From Friday, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has added an eighth train to the line, a move that is expected to reduce waiting time and improve frequency for commuters. Scroll on to know more about this.
Bengaluru Metro Adds 8th Train On Yellow Line
The Yellow Line is one of the key corridors of the Bengaluru Metro. To improve commuter convenience, trains will now run every 9 minutes during peak hours, one minute faster than the earlier 10-minute frequency. According to The Times of India, non-peak frequency will also improve, with trains arriving every 14 minutes instead of the current 18 minutes.
All this will happen, thanks to the 8th trainset that has now been introduced on the Yellow Line, starting February 27. “With the additional train, Metro services on the Yellow Line will operate at 09 minutes interval against 10 minutes during peak and 14 minutes interval against 18 minutes during non-peak hours from Monday to Saturday. There will be no change in Sunday’s Timetable,” BMRCL said in an official statement.
