Bengaluru’s vibrant food culture is legendary. If there’s one dish that encapsulates the city’s gastronomic essence, it’s the dosa. Among the pantheon of dosa joints in Bengaluru, two names stand out—Rameshwaram Cafe and Central Tiffin Room (CTR). Now, these beloved establishments are set to expand their reach by opening outlets in Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).

With the arrival of Rameshwaram Cafe and CTR, KIA is set to give everyone a taste of these legendary restaurants. The airport will no longer just be a transit hub—it will become a culinary destination in its own right. According to an article published by Hindustan Times, CTR will operate in terminal-2, which handles international flight operations in addition to some domestic operations. Rameshwaram Cafe will open at terminal-1, which handles domestic flight operations. There are several Rameshwaram cafe locations throughout the city. In Hyderabad, this will be CTR’s first expansion outside of the well-known Malleshwaram location. The addition of these iconic dosa joints at KIA is not just a win for foodies but also travellers seeking authentic, local experiences.
The Karnataka Chief Minister inaugurated an Indira Canteen at Kempegowda Airport earlier this year. Breakfast is available for ₹5, lunch is available for ₹10, and dinner is served for ₹10. This is to cater to the taxi drivers who, since it is so expensive, frequently forego eating at the airport. As travellers from all over the world arrive and depart from KIA, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) previously stated that one of their goals is to promote local culture at Bengaluru airport.
