Many of us have plans to travel the world someday. Most people plan on doing it after their retirement since that is when they have sufficient money and time to fulfil their dreams. But many times, these are only musings that never come true. However, this 81-year-old duo are making all of their dreams of travelling the world come true. They visited the seven continents of the world in 80 days and are now back home.
Your New BFF Goals Are These Two 81-Year-Old Besties
The two best friends, Sandy Hazelip and Ellie Hamby who are currently 81 years old, have known each other for over 23 years. They grew even closer after their husbands’ passing and kept each other company.
Then, Sandy had the marvellous idea inspired by the famous novel ‘Around The World In 80 Days.’ She suggested that the duo should travel around the world when they turn 80 years old. Ellie immediately took the idea and assented to it.
However, owing to the global pandemic, their globetrotting plans were pushed another year. When they told their family and friends about their plan to travel the world, they said that only 20 per cent of their family members believed that their plans would come to fruition.
This, presumably, was primarily due to their age. People found it hard to believe that two old ladies would end up undertaking such a huge endeavour. However, they took off on their own and shared their journey on the Internet.

Around The World And Into Our Hearts, The Duo’s Much-Loved Journey
They went viral on the Internet as many people found their journey inspiring. It showed many people that they could still do things despite their age. The duo are a resident of the state of Texas in the United States of America, which is where they are now after travelling the world.
As the duo made their way around the world, they also made their way into millions of hearts. They said that the amount of love they have received online has come as a surprise to them and they are happy to know that people find their journey inspiring. They are seen travelling to Antarctica, Finland, Argentina, India, and more iconic locations.
