Bhopal Gets A Drive-In Vaccination Centre; Converts Drive-In Theatre Into Vaccination Site

While many above 45 years got inoculated in the last month in Mumbai, a lot of senior citizens have been waiting for their turn to get vaccinated. And while the government had the best arrangements in the vaccination centres, the long queue and the wait made the entire process painful especially for the senior citizens and the specially-abled. A parking lot at Mumbai’s Dadar West has been converted into a drive-in vaccination centre for the senior citizens and the specially abled. Following Mumbai’s footsteps, Bhopal has also converted a drive-in theatre into a drive-in vaccination centre.

Drive-In Vaccination Ensures Proper Social Distancing

The drive-in vaccination centre ensures that people can get life-saving shots in the safety of their car. The drive-in centre at Ashoka Hotel in Bhopal started its operations on May 1 when the centre announced phase 3 of the vaccination drive for those above 18. Those worried about crowding at vaccination centres are now relieved as the drive-in option also exists. Since one does not have to step out of the car to get vaccinated, the centre is being able to ensure proper social distancing.
