Burj Khalifa Lights Up To Pay Tribute To Queen Elizabeth II

The Queen is among the most famous and mysterious public figures the world has ever known. Queen Elizabeth II left the world at the age of 96, peacefully on September 8, 2022. She took charge of the throne in 1952 and lived a very long and prosperous life, governing England for 70 years. The tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa was lit up with the Queen’s image as a tribute paying gesture.

The tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa is the iconic skyscraper in Dubai. It lights up every evening giving the visitors a visual treat with its laser and light show. Many people gather around to experience this mesmerizing visual just before the aquatic ballet. But this is not the only time when Burj Khalifa is lit. The tall building has also been lit to pay tribute or wish birthdays or Independence days to various iconic personalities and countries respectively. Keeping the tradition going, it was lit with the image of Queen Elizabeth II as a 2,700 feet tribute gesture.

Abu Dhabi’s Landmarks Too Were Lit

A day after Abu Dhabi’s landmarks being lit in purple was Burj Khalifa lit with Queen Elizabeth’s image. The Queen owned the throne for seven decades which is a record breaking duration. Her son Charles took charge of the throne as the King of the UK and other 14 realms. People will be paying respect to the Queen’s coffin as it will be at the Scottish capital of Edinburgh and the next day it will be flown to London. The Queen’s funeral will be held on September 19.
