If you have visited Platform 18 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai recently, you must have seen the restaurant on wheels. It is a much-talked-about and quite a famous eatery in the City of Dreams. If you want to explore this unique restaurant but have not managed to visit there even now, make your plans as soon as possible as this place is going to be closed very soon. Wondering what is the reason behind this major decision? Here are all the deets of this decision taken by the Central Railway.

Named “Bogie-Wogie”, this is the first-ever restaurant of its kind in the city. This place opened its doors to guests back in October 2021. This restaurant on wheels became a major attraction outside the CSMT ever since it began its operations. Even after gaining major popularity, the Mumbai division of the Central Railway is shutting down this rail car-themed restaurant. Bogie Wogie is going to end all its services in October 2023. According to a report by Mumbai Live, the authorities came to the conclusion of closing the shutters because of the proposal of the revamping the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

Along with the ongoing conversation of the station’s redevelopment project, the contract of the restaurant on wheels is about to expire very soon. A senior official of the Central Railway stated about the contract expires this October and the authorities are not going to renew it and cease the operations of Bogie-Wogie.

We Might Get To See A Similar Establishment Somewhere Else In The City

The senior official added that there are chances of floating a new tender and building a restaurant somewhere close. It is confirmed that Bogie Wogie will be closed this October but the possibility of floating a new tender and its location has not been confirmed yet. Several reports state the Central Railway is thinking to establish something like Bogie Wogie either at Dadar or Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

Bogie Wogie has a major fanbase in the city and the love for this place is only growing every day. Thousands of foodies and customers visit the rail-themed restaurant every month. You will always find a crowd here with people of all age groups. We are sure that Mumbaikars will miss this place outside the CSMT.
