A recent study by Newcastle University suggests that drinking a daily glass of 100% fruit juice or smoothie may help improve mental well-being. The researchers conducted a controlled trial on adults with low fruit and vegetable intake. They were given support to increase their daily fruit and vegetable consumption, with and without a glass of fruit juice or a smoothie.

Here’s The Result Of Trials
After four weeks, the group that drank fruit juice reported a reduction in depression scores compared to those who did not drink it. According to the study, even a small glass of 100% fruit juice or a smoothie daily may offer potential benefits for mental well-being. The group consuming fruit juice and smoothies scored lower on the depression scale. Mood was measured using validated questionnaires for anxiety and depression.
The study, conducted by Dr Courtney Neal, surprised researchers, who believe the data is promising and worth further exploration. The fruit juice may have improved brain blood flow and cognitive function, which could positively impact mental health.
