Ride hailer Careem will deliver free food this Ramadan, to encourage people to donate to the sharing fridges set up across the city.

What’s It?

Ramadan is the season of giving and UAE is already doing its bit. Now, the region’s famous transportation network company- Careem has signed up to lend a helping hand this festive season. So, if you’re wondering how to reach out to the nearest sharing fridge, Careem is here to help.

Careem has now joined hands with the UAE Food Bank and Dubai Municipality to hand-pick food donations from various homes and drop it off at the closest sharing fridge. All you need to do is, get on the Careem app and choose ‘Food Bank’ as your car type and the drop off location. A rider will then be at your doorstep to pick your donation.

Donations can be in any form- home cooked, canned food, or anything that you wish. However, make sure the food is fresh and is prepared on the same day. Also, its best you avoid chopped fruits, or ready-to-eat and also ensure the parcel fits in a 35x35x35cm space. The donation car will be on wheels from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm all through Ramadan. The service will be available in all areas except Motor City, Silicon Oasis, Khawaneej, Mamzar, Mirdif, Arabian Ranches, Qusais and Nahda.

Happy giving and happy Ramadan!
