Two Indian brands, The Glenwalk and Godawan, have recently received international recognition for their outstanding whisky, highlighting the growing prominence of Indian spirits on the world stage.

The Glenwalk Scoops Silver Medal

The Glenwalk Scotch Whisky is a flagship brand of Indian spirits company Cartel Bros. It recently made headlines by earning a Silver Medal at the London Spirits Competition 2024. This prestigious competition is one of the largest in the spirits industry and attracts top-quality brands from around the world.

The Glenwalk’s win is a testament to the careful craftsmanship and dedication of the Cartel Bros team. They meticulously created an exceptional Scotch whisky that combines tradition with innovation. It certainly delivers an outstanding drinking experience to whisky enthusiasts worldwide. 

Actor and whisky enthusiast Sanjay Dutt serves as the brand ambassador for The Glenwalk. He also expressed his excitement and pride in the brand’s achievement at the London Spirits Competition. He emphasised its top-shelf status and congratulated the team on their well-deserved recognition.

Currently, The Glenwalk is positioned just above the IMFL premium and Scotch sales range. It also holds a 16% market share in Maharashtra. Its recent international accolade reaffirms its status as a premium brand synonymous with excellence.

Godawan 100 Crowned World’s Best Single Malt At London Spirits Competition 2024

Godawan 100 is a collector’s-edition single malt crafted by Diageo India. It was named “Single Malt Whisky of the Year” at the London Spirits Competition 2024. This win highlights Godawan’s prominence as the most awarded Indian single malt during the 2023-24 period, accumulating an impressive 42 national and international accolades.

Scoring 96 points at the competition, Godawan 100 stood out for its exceptional quality, value, and packaging. The whisky’s intricate flavour profile combines tropical notes, a lighter palate, and a short finish, with hints of caramel, charcoal, cinnamon, and anise. Judge Filip Stribrny praised the whisky for its complexity and rich flavours of dried fruits, sultanas, and dark chocolate, along with a dark, dry finish of oak.

Together, The Glenwalk and Godawan exemplify India’s rising status in the global spirits industry.
