‘Mayfair Mein Baraat Nikali’: Anil Agarwal On His Daughter’s Grand Wedding In London

In the latest episode of Indians Abroad, our editor-in-chief, Kamiya Jani, visited London to meet the world’s 5th richest NRI, Anil Agarwal, where he gave her a glimpse of his life in London. Anil Agarwal On His Daughter’s Marriage

Speaking about his daughter’s childhood, he shared how she was born in New York and did her schooling in a weekly boarding school. He further revealed how every week she did service in the church and used to play harp for all the marriages. He said, “I felt very proud, my daughter, when she got married in this house. Mayfair mein poori baraat nikali, palace se humne unka jo horsecart tha, we have persuaded them to give us their horsecart.” Recalling his daughter’s marriage, he stated that it was a typical Indian wedding with horses and all, and it was quite fun.

Kiran Agarwal Talks About Husband Anil Agarwal

In this episode, we also got to chat with his wife, Kiran. She shared, “We moved in here in 1996; he has been very ambitious, very persuasive. Mann mein kuch than lete hain toh fir vo waisa karna hai. Toh fir inke mann mein aaya ki ab Bombay bahot hogaya, ab Bombay se bahar nikal kar kuch aur aage karna hai, kuch bada karna hai.” Talking about his good qualities, she also mentioned how he always believes in living the best life, regardless of how much money you have.

Mrs Kiran Agarwal further revealed their love story and how their marriage was an arranged setup with a Bollywood-style twist. When asked if it was an arranged marriage or love, she said, “Bilkul arranged, but we knew, the families knew, we have been very close families. My elder sister was supposed to get married to him; he also wanted to get married to her, and that is how it started.”
