This alluring destination is a popular sight to witness the splendid decor, recycled designs, and beautiful representation of stunning craftsmanship. Created by Nek Chand Saini and inaugurated in 1976, Rock Garden in Chandigarh will celebrate its grand 50 years of establishment in 2026. Before reaching the noteworthy milestone, the UT administration has extraordinary plans to add a makeover to the renowned garden.

The budget for the transformation is ₹20 crore and includes ideas to beautify the landmark further, add new eye-catching elements, and enhance visitors’ experiences. According to a report by Hindustan Times, a meeting was held between the UT Secretary of Tourism, engineering department officers, and a team from the tourism department. The meeting decided to construct a new gate in the garden. Along with this gate, the revamped process will witness more changes at this iconic location.

A Rock Cafe is a part of the project. Lengthening the Doll Museum to Phase 3 and widening the sitting places are a part of the renovation. There are proposals to build new statues, internal pathways, more washrooms, and new signposts. There might be a system to issue cashless tickets as well. A fascinating idea added to the proposals is to host events on weekends.
