We have grown up eating ghee-laden parathas. The aromatic flatbreads our moms made with love are something that we all cherish. Moreover, it could be eaten at any time of the day! However, the recent trend of food experimentation has not spared our beloved parathas! Here’s a new one for you — the gulab jamun paratha!

Gulab Jamun Paratha, Anyone?

Remember when our mums used to make ‘cheeni paratha’? A flatbread rolled out with sugar crystals in it. That was surely a treat when we didn’t like the sabzi. However, this gulab jamun paratha doesn’t sound that appealing. An Instagram blogger, Yash Chauhan (yourbrownfoodie), shared a reel that featured it. The video starts with a vendor from Agra taking two gulab jamuns and crushing them on a little dough. Then he wraps the dough around the crushed gulab jamun and rolls it out. Then with a lot of ghee, he cooked the paratha. Further, it was served with aloo sabzi, kadhi and chutney just for ₹60!

Other Paratha Experiments

The traditional Korean dish Kimchi was combined with paratha by a Korean chef. This one, though, really amazed the crowd! But could you stomach a momo paratha? Yes, a food blogger posted a video where he was seen trying a momo paratha worth ₹100! Netizens were enraged and bashed the vendor on how he could insult both momos and parathas.

But this woman did a magic trick! She stuffed a ₹500 note in a paratha and cooked it. The result — she removed a ₹2000 note! Users were shocked to see this cutting-edge method for making paratha. Some of them didn’t like the woman’s attempt to deceive everyone by converting ₹500 to ₹2000 in the video.

Similarly, the Internet was divided after learning about the chocolate chips paratha topped with vanilla ice cream. The video showed a woman stuffed the paratha dough with chocolate chips. After cooking it, she topped it with vanilla ice cream and devoured it.

In addition to the weird combinations, there is a weird way of making a paratha. If you have guessed correctly, it is the ‘pithai paratha’!
