Well, this passion and love for Indian culture have now culminated in one of the world’s largest culinary centers in Udupi, Karnataka.
Chef Vikas Khanna Inaugurates Culinary Centre In Udupi
At his alma mater, the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA) within the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Chef Vikas Khanna inaugurated the Centre for Indian Cuisine and Food Culture. The inaugural ceremony was attended by alumni chef Vikas Khanna, present instructors, and MAHE students.
Chef Vikas Khanna tweeted that he was happy to be a part of the future that his alma mater was working for. He also called this centre a dream come true for him!
At the opening ceremony, WGSHA Principal Chef K Thirugnanasambantham explained that the centre’s goals are to not only improve Indian cuisine’s standing on the world culinary map but also to assist students in exploring both macro- and micro-cuisines within India.
It aims to raise awareness of the close connection between Indian cuisine, history, and culture. Chef Vikas Khanna has already played a crucial role in the construction of the Culinary Museum at the WGSHA; thus, his dedication to the new center’s objective is already well established, Chef K. Thirugnanasambantham further stated.

Preserving The Vibrant Indian Cuisine
In order to preserve the essence of vibrant Indian cuisine, he was instrumental in the construction of a culinary museum. This ambition has come true after 15 years of hard work and dedication.
The museum is a remarkable place to visit if you’re curious about discovering the historical value of old kitchen implements. Chefs also took an oath during the event by Vikas Khanna.
In addition to understanding the science of using local, fresh fruit and the skill of Indian cooking, the centre will teach young people about the extensive historical past of Indian cuisine. In the same way that ITC Hotels has promoted Indian cuisine through its famous eateries, the centre will conduct research, create new recipes, and increase global awareness of Indian cuisine.
Chef Vikas Khanna made sure to visit Udupi’s revered Krishna temple before heading for the inauguration. He also posted videos and pictures from his visit, where he wrote about being nostalgic as he used to visit the temples while he studied in Manipal.
