Chef Vikas Khanna has left us drooling again, but this time we also have a recipe to help us recreate it! As an AI-generated voice of Lata Mangeshkar singing ‘Ram Aayenge’ has gone viral on the internet, Chef Vikas remembered the late singer and recreated a prasad that he made for her in 2013. He added a caption, “As we are celebrating her legacy in Ayodhya, I wanted to share the simple recipe that Didi loved.”
It is a steamed banana prasad recipe with jaggery, coconut, cardamom, and sesame seeds stuffing. He recollected in the post that back in 2013, he was invited by Lata didi to her residency in Prabhu Kunj. She then asked him to “cook prasad for the prayers” and this recipe was born.
Here’s The Quick Recipe Of This Prasad That You Can Try At Home

Ingredients:
- Baby bananas
- Jaggery powder
- Freshly grated coconut
- Cardamom powder
- Sesame seeds
- Ghee
Method:
- To start with, wash your banana thoroughly since you’ll be consuming it with the peel on.
- Next, cut the ends of the baby bananas, drill a generous cavity through it, and keep it aside
- Time to work on the filling. Take a saucepan and add your jaggery or jaggery powder to it.
- Once it begins to heat up, add some freshly grated coconut and a generous pinch of cardamom powder to it.
- Next, add some ghee to bring the whole mixture together.
- Add white and black sesame seeds to the whole mix and stir for some time.
- Once the mixture cools down, start stuffing it inside the drilled cavity of bananas.
- Now, steam these stuffed bananas over a low flame for some time.
