What’s So Special About Mainpat
Mainpat in Chhattisgarh is home to a Tibetan community, and their presence gives the place a special vibe. You’ll see colourful monasteries and prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. When you visit this place, you surely don’t want to miss out on the taste of traditional Tibetan food. The authentic dishes like momos made without refined flour are a must-try while taking peaceful walks through green fields and quiet trails. It’s an experience that’s much calmer than busy tourist spots.
Beyond its serene landscapes, Mainpat has some rare natural attractions that make it even more fascinating.
1. Thinthini Stone – A Stone That Rings Like a Bell
In Chhindkalo village, there’s a stone that makes a clear bell-like sound when struck. Visitors love it because it’s surprising and unusual for a stone to ring.
2. Ultapani – Water That Flows Uphill
At Ultapani, water seems to flow uphill instead of down. Scientists say it’s an optical illusion, but it still feels magical to watch.
3. Natural Trampoline – The Bouncy Ground
Some areas in Mainpat have soft, springy ground that bounces when you jump. It happens because layers of vegetation sit over water, making it feel like a natural trampoline.
