The Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League is returning soon. Yes, the drone race is scheduled for April 2025 and it’s certainly going to bring the best from across the globe for a nailbiting race, with drones zooming across the Abu Dhabi skies. As it happens, the prize money is $1 million and competitors will be pushing the limit to win this massive sum. As it happens, they will have to be quite fast and agile as they navigate through a maze of obstacles to win the exclusive prize. And it’s not just for pros but even for high school students who have a passion for STEM.

Moreover, teams will have to face a nerve-wracking three-step selection process if they wish to qualify for the May finale that’s taking place in 2020. Here’s the three-step selection process:

  • The first step is of screening, wherein participants will have to showcase their robotics and AI chops through research papers, drone flight videos, and project websites.
  • For the next step, they will have to give a video submission of their autonomous drones in action. From precision flying and advanced sensors to computation power, all of this will be on full display.
  • Finally, the last step is that of an on-site demo wherein the best of the best will be invited to Abu Dhabi for a live demonstration.

After these steps, only 20 teams will be making it to the grand finale of April 2025. If this upcoming competition sounds like something that might be up your alley, then you will want to register on the website right now.
