Costing Only ₹280, Here’s What All You’ll Get In IRCTC’s Maharaja Thali On Train

If you’ve travelled on Indian trains for a long journey, you know that the food provided is average at best. Especially while travelling, getting your hands on good food is quite difficult unless you decide to bring your own homemade dishes. But since travelling is a messy affair as it is, getting your own food is not always an option. Keeping in mind these difficulties, IRCTC launched a new feature some time back that allowed you to order food and get it delivered to your train seat.

Here’s What You Get In IRCTC Maharaja Thali

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation or IRCTC have a feature that lets you order food from your phone that gets delivered to your train seat. Here is a glimpse of what you can get in a Vegetarian Maharaja Thali on the train.

The thali comes with dal, rice, some rotis, a paneer sabzi, chhole, raita, some onion slices and lemon wedges, papad, and the best of it all, two pieces of delicious gulab jamun. Apart from these items, the thali also came equipped with a wooden spoon, a tissue, and a small packet of pickles.

The quantity of the food was abundant and more than adequate for a meal for one person. Even the food items that were given were nutritious and not just delicious. So you know that you’re not spoiling your health.

All This At Just ₹280

Probably the best part about this meal is that it cost only ₹280. So the meal is not too heavy on your tummy as well as your pocket. The food was ordered from a restaurant and delivery kitchen in Amravati called Food On Call. This restaurant is an official food delivery partner of IRCTC.

This restaurant is also a great option for vegetarians since the restaurant itself is pure vegetarian. So even when you’re travelling, you don’t have to worry about your special dietary requirements.
