Kedarnath is one of the sacred and important places for Hindu pilgrims. The temple located in the mountains in Uttarakhand is also one of the four sites of Chota Char Dham. And every year, the government organises Kedarnath yatras for pilgrims to visit this beautiful and ancient temple. But the path to reach this temple is filled with rocky and unstable topography that is difficult to travel. Therefore, to make travel simple for the pilgrims, IRCTC is planning to introduce booking for helicopter services.

The Kedarnath temple is an important and most visited site in India. But the path to reach it is not suitable for everyone to travel through. The easiest and most efficient way to reach there is by air, and therefore, the state government of Uttarakhand had introduced helicopter services for visitors. And now the process is more simple! IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) will be starting booking services for helicopters from April 25, 2023 (estimated date).

As per the report of Times Of India, helicopter services are still on a trial run and will continue till March 31st. A Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) and IRCTC. This agreement is for providing helicopter services to the pilgrims of Kedarnath Dham. Even the official website of the state tourism states that the bookings for helicopter services will be done on the IRCTC website.

The Kedarnath Yatra is organised by the Uttarakhand government and you are taken to the holy town of Kedarnath. After being closed for six months, the holy site is open from April — which is the best time to visit. Though the trek to this temple is the longest, with help of helicopter services, you will be able to reach there in no time.
