Covid 19: Carrefour Urges Customers To Stop Panic Buying

The Coronavirus outbreak has affected millions of people around the world. The UAE government is encouraging residents to stay at home, and people are in turn feeling the need to stock up on groceries. Carrefour assures everyone that they have enough stock, and has asked everyone to stop panic buying food.

Carrefour is asking everyone in the UAE to be more mindful of one another, and to shop responsibly. The massive supermarket chain released a statement reassuring the public of the stock that they will continue to have. They are urging people to stop hoarding, and making it potentially difficult for others.

Although shopping malls will remain closed in the UAE, all Carrefour stores will stay open, operating at the regular timings. Carrefour has also mentioned that they are continuously monitoring stock levels, to ensure constant availability of groceries. Their number one aim and goal is to adequately care for all their customer’s needs, during this pressing time.

Carrefour promises all that they will not increase prices, and asks that everyone stop panicking. They are working closely with their suppliers, in order to maintain economical prices for all their customers. They have stated that during this time, they don’t wish to increase customer’s bills. At this time of difficulty, they are trying to lower prices, in order to help the public during this time of the Coronavirus.

The supermarket chain has implemented strict sanitisation procedures in all stores around the United Arab Emirates. They have also imposed strong social distancing measures between staff and customers in order to curb the spread of Covid 19. This involves the placement of acrylic glass screens at all checkout counters to decrease any kind of social contact. They have also placed more instructional signage around the market, one again, in order to reduce social interaction.

What Else?

LuLu hypermarket has also confirmed it will continue to function as normal. The super-marketing chain will be open daily from 8 am up to 12 am everyday. Lulu hypermarket has stated that they are working closely with their logistical teams, and governmental authorities. They are also in discussions with suppliers, in order to ensure a constant supply of all products. They are assuring everyone that all Lulu warehouses are absolutely stocked, and there’s no need for panic buying and hoarding.
