1. DXB Resumes Its Service

After minor delays due to inclement weather, flights at DXB International Airport (DXB) are now operating as scheduled. On May 1 late at night and May 2, the severe weather conditions over the UAE caused havoc with airline schedules, resulting in delays, planes being redirected, and some cancellations. The DXB International Airport has now resumed normal operations, according to an announcement on X. 

2. RTA Announces Intercity Buses Are Back!

Following the time of unfavourable weather, the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) has declared that all intercity buses are now operational again. The intercity bus service in the UAE is heavily relied upon by commuters for their daily travels. Thus, any extended suspensions could pose an issue when the period for remote work recommendations expires. Although the bus service in Dubai is still operational, patrons are advised to anticipate delays while the buses are negotiating the roads.

On May 9, Andrea Morricone will conduct his father’s music at the Dubai Opera. You won’t want to miss this event, which will include him leading the Dubai Festival Chorus and the Armenian Symphony Orchestra. In addition to two platinum seats to the show, you’ll also get to meet and greet Andrea Morricone in person to start the evening. 4. Abu Dhabi’s Weather Warning Impact Food Deliveries

A warning has been issued by the Abu Dhabi Police on riding bikes during the anticipated downpour. During the unpredictable weather conditions predicted later this week, the warning covers both bike commuting and bike deliveries. This includes food or supply delivery via apps like Uber Eats and Deliveroo. The Abu Dhabi police issued a warning on their official Facebook page, advising residents not to use motorcycles for delivery or transportation.

The original Irish pub Fibber Magee’s is a hidden gem in Dubai. This delightfully Irish pubby has been feeding and watering us for almost 28 years. According to co-founder Ross Matthew Smiththe city will soon welcome a second location. He hasn’t revealed the location of Fibber Magee’s second location, but we anticipate it will have the same charming atmosphere and warm welcome as the well-known spot on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The famous café chain EL&N London, which is well-known for its distinctive take on dining, is getting ready to grow in Dubai by launching its newest locations there. The company, which presently has three cafés in the United Arab Emirates—in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi; Al Zahia, Sharjah; and DIFC, Dubai—will be bringing its happy vibes, delectable food, and excellent coffee to Dubai Hills Mall and Dubai Festival City Mall.

There are 65 award-winning resorts in the world, ranging from exciting ski getaways to tropical island getaways, unique excursions, and more. And soon, Club Med Musandam will be able to provide us with a special offering. The resort is scheduled to open in 2028, and construction is anticipated to begin in 2026.

In Dubai, 100 million new mangrove trees will be planted as part of a massive coastline regeneration project. A whopping 72 kilometres of coastline will be transformed by the ideas of URB, a creator of Net Zero sustainable towns, and beaches will be brimming with lush greenery.
