There, unmistakably, is Anne Hathaway, in the midst of shooting The Devil Wears Prada 2. Instead of squealing, waving, or trying to grab a blurry selfie like most people might, @mickmicknyc goes in an entirely different direction.
She whips out her own lunch and begins to eat it, right there, on the sidewalk. It’s oddly touching and insanely funny. And the most fun part was that Hathaway had no idea. She’s giving a to-be iconic shot (we can vouch for it), while across the street, someone is silently “joining” her for lunch in a gesture that feels both absurd and kind of beautiful. Handled differently, it could’ve felt awkward or over-the-top, but instead, it unfolded with just the right mix of charm and spontaneity that only New York can deliver.
