The East Coast of India is all set to experience rough weather as the stormy weather is said to intensify into Cyclone Fengal. The India Meteorological Department or the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this particular cyclonic storm raging on the East Coast.

According to an article which was recently published by News18, a deep depression formed over the Bay of Bengal. This deep depression is now intensifying into a cyclonic storm. It is named Fengal. The IMD predicted that it would turn into a cyclone on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Taking cognisance of the extreme weather conditions, the authorities have ordered the temporary closure of educational institutions like schools and colleges in certain regions. These are Chengelpet, Chennai, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, and Puducherry.
The Chief Minister or the CM of the state, MK Stalin, recently chaired a meeting where he went over the precautionary measures the state has in place for possible emergency situations.

The CM also directed as many as 17 National Disaster Response Force or the NDRF teams in various parts of the state. These include Chennai, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur. In addition to this, he also directed the maintenance and desiltation of canals so that flooding could be prevented.
If reports are to go by, predictions for heavy to very heavy rains have been issued. These are for regions including Chengelpet, Chennai, Cuddalore, Kanchipuram, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, and Tiruvarur. The predictions were made by the Regional Meteorological Department or the RMD.
Aavin mentioned that they are taking all possible precautionary measures to ensure an uninterrupted supply of milk throughout the state. They are a state-run milk cooperative.
