They have a restaurant, bar and a bakery! All three are prime spots in Darjeeling. The restaurant comes with a beautiful terrace and view. The food is multicuisine and irresistible. There’s something for everyone. The bakery is just as multifaceted. Take your eggs scrambled and tea Darjeeling with a little pizza maybe? Their fruit salad with ice cream and chocolate brownies are some of the best in the city. They’re open from noon to 9:30 PM and have all the popular alcohols and cocktails but, the best part is they host live music performances!

3. Frank Ross Café
Get vegan food in the hills and go full cleanse. This place has the yummiest vegan options plus everything from dosa to Chinese. People also find their fast food child friendly. Vegetarians rejoice when they take a bite of their chole bhature or pav bhaji. The service is not their strong suit but who wants to live a fast life in the hills!

4. NERDvana Bookstore And Café
Books, hills and food, is there anything more to life? This beautiful café has art on the walls and bookshelves from floor to ceiling. Musicians come here for open mics and people gather for activities and discussions. This place is a safe haven in the safest of havens, the Himalayas. They serve the best air and best beverages. Tea and coffee are permanently placed in every hand, except the hands that are busy with guitars.

5. Gatty’s Café
How about some karaoke at 6,700 feet? This is one of the extremely few places in this hill station that stays open past 9 PM. Expect travellers, foreigners and night crawlers camping out here every night. Their dim lights and cheesy lasagnas can win anyone over. They’re open from 6 AM to midnight. Since they set up shop in 2012, locals have not once taken a break from this place.

6. Revolver Café
Every Beatles fan should visit this place on their trip to Darjeeling. Their unique interiors are themed on the immortal band. They serve pahadi necessities like tea and pancakes, but the real winner is their local and Naga food. The owners are driven by music. They offer pretty decent accommodation, great food and a mind-blowing playlist.

7. Hot Stimulating Café
This budget-friendly place has the momos we all deserve. They’re located at the edge of a cliff-like drop in the middle of greenery galore. You’ll stumble onto this chai and momo place on your way to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. It’s perfect for trekkers looking for a quick break and some local flavour.

8. Sonam’s Kitchen
Imagine sipping on the best freshly brewed coffee in the tea capital of India! The local owners have run this place for 16 years with the butter-iest toasts, fluffiest pancakes and crispiest hash browns. It’s the perfect breakfast food for all day mountain feels. Serve us some gooey honey porridge with fresh fruit and hillside goodness at any time of day and we’re good.
