Travelling to distant locations, particularly to distant religious destinations, can get challenging for certain people. But there is good news for spiritual travellers and pilgrims that will make their journey to Amritsar and Jammu quite convenient. Travellers and pilgrims can now visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu conveniently thanks to the official opening of the Haryana section of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway.
Newly Opened Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway
Travel time between Delhi and Katra is anticipated to be greatly shortened by the newly opened expressway, which is an essential component of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra corridor. It is now possible to travel 135 km from the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway to the Kaithal district’s Punjab border, thanks to this new corridor.
Built through the Jhajjar area of Haryana, the expressway is said to include wide greenery on its central divider and sturdy barriers to keep animals from crossing. With four high-speed lanes and speed limitations of 80 km/h for heavy vehicles and 120 km/h for light cars, the facility is well-equipped.

Toll System On This Highway
By doing away with booths, the highway’s contemporary toll collection system expedites the payment procedure. Fountains are incorporated into the design for aesthetic reasons as well as to irrigate the plants along the path.
Both light and large motor vehicles can travel on the highway. However, autorickshaws and motorcyclists are not allowed. Updates are provided every 100 meters, and clear signage guarantees safe navigation.
Light commercial vehicles (₹385 for one-way trips, ₹580 for return trips), two-axle buses and trucks (₹805 for single trips, ₹1,210 for round trips), three-axle commercial vehicles (₹880 for one-way trips and ₹1,320 for both ways), and light motor vehicles (₹240 for one-way trips, ₹360 for round trips) are all subject to tolls at the KMP-Kaithal Section.
